About the Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation:
“The Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation (BTCF) was established in 2007 as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation. It is the charitable arm of Berkeley Tennis Club, created when members wanted to give donations to promote the sport of tennis. The foundation is governed by a Board of Directors who meet semi-annually to review foundation requests for funding and to make financial awards.”
Since 2007, over $70,000 has been disbursed to reputable tennis programs and deserving individuals:
Youth Tennis Advantage (YTA) in the SF Bay Area
Northern California Tennis Wheelchair Association
Restoration of the Berkeley High School tennis courts
Summer tennis camp scholarships at Berkeley Tennis Club to needy area juniors
Travel assistance to Berkeley Tennis Club juniors for national tournaments
Stipends for individual tennis coaching for top-level youth
Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation Mission:
Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation is committed to promote the sport of tennis through tennis competitions and tennis education and to make charitable contributions to organizations unaffiliated with Berkeley Tennis Club which promote tennis among young people and disabled persons.
