The Club

Berkeley Tennis Club

Founded in 1906, Berkeley Tennis Club was originally located on 2624 Hillegass Avenue. In 1917, the club moved to its present site at One Tunnel Road. The initial membership has grown from 40 to over 500, single, individual, married/couple and family memberships.

Berkeley Tennis Club is a member-owned club, which is operated on a not-for-profit basis solely for the benefit of its members. This contrasts with many other competing clubs which are for-profit organizations owned by corporations or individuals. We as members make the decisions and participate in committees and activities to make it the club that it is today. Berkeley Tennis Club is governed by a Board of Directors whose members are annually elected from the membership and who serve without remuneration.

The setting of Berkeley Tennis Club with a backdrop of the historic Claremont Resort & Spa makes playing tennis a unique experience. Besides tennis on 10 hard courts (nine lit), the Club has a pool and hot tub, a fitness facility in the upper clubhouse and a ballroom for dinners, special functions and other fitness activities.

Berkeley Tennis Club, along with Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation is committed to the promotion of tennis for its members as well as the tennis community at large.
