Fitness and Aquatics



Berkeley Tennis Club offers a complete Fitness Center to its tennis members, which includes a complete cardio training facility, strength training with both machines and free weights offered. We also offer individual training from qualified and experienced trainers, along with fitness class offerings such as Cardio Tennis, Yoga, Tai Chi, Stretch, Stretch Release, and Zumba.

BTC Class Descriptions

Our beautiful 25 yard pool and whirlpool spa sit underneath the backdrop of the historical Claremont Hotel. This amenity to members provides recreational swimming, lap swimming, private and semi instructional lessons, children group lessons and master swim programs.

Berkeley Tennis Club Beginner Program (ages 6-9)  40 minute class *Coach evaluation required In this class, students will work on learning and/or improving all the necessary techniques for basic freestyle and backstroke swimming, with an introduction to the  breaststroke and the butterfly. The workout is based on  25 yard drills sets. In order to join the class the swimmer has to be water-safe and able to understand and execute instructions.

Private lessons (all ages) Private swim lessons are open to all, from beginners who want to learn how to swim to competitive athletes who desire to polish and improve their swim techniques. The instructor tailors private lessons to what you or the student would like to work on and designs the workouts and workflow based on the student's needs and capacity.

Swim Program Intermediate Program (ages 10-15) 1 hour class *Coach evaluation required Our intermediate class is focused on improving technical knowledge and execution of the 4 strokes with underwater techniques, dives, and flip turns. The workout is based on 50 yard and 100 yard sets. In order to join the class the swimmer has to be water-safe and able to understand and execute instructions.

Master Program (adults) 1 hour class Our master class is open for adults who want to improve their fitness level and stroke techniques. This swim practice is suitable for all swimmers who have basic knowledge of the 4 swim strokes.
