Brendan Curry

Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa Brendan began playing tennis at age 7 ranked #3 in the country as a junior. On the ATP Tour from 1989- 1996, he achieved a career high singles ranking of 450 and 181 in doubles. Brendan ran his own tennis school in Cape Town, South Africa before returning to the Tour as a travelling coach in 2000. In 2002 he joined the Orchid at Mauna Lani Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii as a tennis instructor and eventually Head Teaching Pro and then joined the team at Hualalai Resort in 2005 where he taught for 7 years.

Brendan is a Professional Level PTR Certified coach, joined the team at the Tiburon Peninsula Club in 2013 and was Director of Tennis from December 2014- 2020 Brendan was the Tournament Director for the ATP100 Tiburon Challenger from 2015-2019.

Peter is a member of the USTA Team NorCal coaching staff that is tasked with running training camps for the top juniors in Northern California, and Early Development camps for up-and-coming juniors in younger age groups.

He is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association, (P1-Elite). A graduate of the USTA High Performance Coaching Program, and International Coaches Institute certified (ICI) and has worked with players ranging from beginners to advanced juniors and collegiate level.

Peter's experience and training in mental training techniques come is derived from a combination of competitive background and graduate level work in Sport Psychology. Techniques for Relaxation, Focus, and other tools are taught to help players "allow themselves the opportunity to perform to their fullest capabilities". Holding a Master's Degree in Sport Psychology, Peter has been a member of the Performance Enhancement and Intervention Committee, Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology (AAASP).

His past coaching experience includes:

  • 5 years as the Head Coach for College of Alameda Men's/Women's Tennis Teams
  • 4 years as Head Coach of Diablo Valley College Men’s/Women’s Tennis Teams
  • Staff coach Claremont Tennis Academy
  • Staff coach Jensen/Redondo Tennis Academy
  • 2 ½ years staff coach (2002-2004) USTA Regional Competition Training Center- Northern California
  • Coach, 2003 NorCal Zonal 16's Champions





Cagatay Soke

We are very pleased to announce that Cagatay Soke has joined the BTC pro team. Cagatay will be teaching private lessons for all ages and abilities, adult clinics when we are allowed to again as well as working with the BTC Junior Development Program. Cagatay started playing tennis at the age of 6 in his hometown, Izmir, Turkey. He was ranked 1st in his country through the u/18 division and top 15 in Europe, won the national championships & represented the national team in all junior categories. He has a bachelor's degree in Economics, and a minor in General Business.

Having traveled to more than 40 countries, Cagatay got to know and compete with some of the best players & coaches currently on the ATP Tour. He has participated in numerous seminars and received certifications from Tennis Europe & International Tennis Federation. He worked with individuals and groups including the top junior players in IZTIK Tennis Club in Turkey and looks forward to sharing his knowledge with the BTC Membership.
